We believe that consumers should know where their food comes from and how it is raised. They should know what the animals have eaten and how they have been treated. We also believe consumers should understand the difference in time and labor required to produce humanely-raised animals versus mass-produced factory farming. We are happy to offer tours of our ranch and show you how our products get to the table. We believe the land we live on is very special and would like to share that with you. There are farm animals and wildlfe to see, and secluded picnic spots to hike to. Over a mile of Salmon Creek runs through our ranch, bordered by forest and redwood groves. The ranch has miles of hiking trails -- some quite steep that require you to be in good shape, while others are flat enough for toddlers. Some are out in the open on windy hills with fabulous views. Others are cool and shaded with ferns and redwoods. As we are a working ranch with a very limited labor force (us!), we have to schedule group tours on specific days each month (see current tour schedule). Some tours have an additonal themes such as flora or fauna commentaries wth expert gudes. There is a nominal cover charge of $15/car. If the
scheduled dates do not work for you, we can offer private tours by
arrangement at $25/car. Artists are welcome to come and
paint, poets to write and children to play. You are also welcome to
purchase ranch products at our Mercantile. When
inquiring about availability, please let us know the number of adults
and the ages of any children coming and if anyone needs special
accommodation. We try to tailor tours to fit the needs and interests of
our visitors.
Tours must be rescheduled if it rains. Dogs
are welcome, but they MUST be on lead and well behaved, as we have
livestock freely
roaming and we do not want them to be disturbed. There is also parking
in the shade if you would prefer to leave your dog inside your car. For
tour reservations or more information: Email us or call (707)
876-1808.
