Salmon Creek Ranch is the home of Timaru Salukis and Anatolians, and is also a licensed dog boarding facility. We (Lesley and John) have over 80 years of dog experience between us, including Shelties, Salukis and Anatolian Shepherds. We offer overnight and day care for a limited number of discerning dogs in a peaceful, low stress setting.

Having to board out our own dogs periodically over the years, we never found a kennel we liked. They were loud, too much concrete, too crowded, too much stress and filled with a lot of unhappy dogs. So, when we moved to the country, we were determined to provide a much more pleasant experience for our guest dogs. About 20 feet from our house is our spacious and luxurious dog facility, where our own canines spend the night and guest dogs are welcome. The facility was custom designed and built by us, based on our years of experience of what makes our own dogs happy. It is NOT your usual dog boarding facility with dozens of smelly concrete runs crowded into a confined space. We have 5 runs altogether, some of which are usually used for our own dogs.

The runs are attached to a picturesque barn in which the indoor section of each run is accommodated. Each spacious, heavily insulated indoor apartment has two luxurious dog beds raised above the wood and linoleum (not concrete) floor with plenty of space between the beds. Each indoor dog apartment opens out to a large, clean, individual outdoor gravel run (again not concrete). All runs include redwood decks for outdoor reclining, and are exceptionally secure with heavy duty woven wire sides. The runs have views of the the plentiful wildlife and farm animals who inhabit the ranch, so your pet can enjoy the diverse sights and scents of country life.

An adjacent half-acre grass-and-shade-tree paddock with a secure 6 foot perimeter fence is where your dogs get to run around during their optional play sessions for additional exercise. The ranch also has miles and miles of spectacular trails winding through our grasslands and forest, along which your dog can be walked for an extra fee.

Since our dog facility is directly adjacent to our house, we only accept guest dogs who are relatively quiet, otherwise we will be kept awake at night!

Overnight Boarding Rate:
Overnight boarding rates are $45/night. If you have more than one dog and they can share the same run, the rate is $35/night
(based on double occupancy). Intact dogs are welcome.

Daycare Rates:
Out for the day and don't want to bring your pet? We offer daycare at $25/day.
 
Food:
Included in the daily rate is up to two feedings a day of the same high quality dry kibble we use for our own dogs. If your dog is accustomed to a different diet, you can provide food for the duration of your dog's stay at your option. Complicated feeding plans requiring extra work for us may incur additional cost.

Medications:
We are happy to accommodate any special medical needs. An additional $5 will be charged per day for the daily administration of medication.

Play Sessions
Personally supervised exercise sessions, in our large (half acre) and secure exercise area, with open pasture and trees for shade, cost $25 each.

Trail Walks
We have many miles of private woodland and grassland trails and walks on them are an amazing treat for a boarding dog. Due to the very labor intensive nature of these walks and the extra care we devote to them, we have to charge $75 per occurrence for these special outings. 

Pick-up and delivery
Our secluded 400-acre ranch is located near Bodega Bay, about 30 minutes west of Petaluma. If you live in the Bay Area we can pick up your dog(s) for $2 per mile. Check out your distance by clicking on this link on Google maps.
